….you just have to ask how on earth does Zakk keep coming up with the goods. “Well the beautiful thing about being a musician and the beautiful thing about music is it’s an endless canvas,” explains Zakk when we caught up with him recently in Los Angeles. “Just take a look at Led Zeppelin. You figure after they wrote Stairway Too Heaven they must have sat back and said, ‘holy fuck, we could basically quite right now’, but the next thing you know they come out with No Quarter and Over The Hills And Far Away and The Ocean and The Rain Song and then after that’s it’s Kashmir and Trampled under Foot. That’s the beautiful thing. That’s why I love going into the studio, you never know what you’re going to get. It’s like a Cracker Jack box, you never know what you are going to get until you get to the bottom”.
……… “The whole intention when I first started this whole thing was to make it like a family,” says Wylde proudly about Black Label Society. “People also say, ‘you didn’t think it was going to blow up as big as it has’, but I always said that this thing is fucking bigger than me. I might have started it but it’s bigger than one guy and that’s the reason why I didn’t call it the Zakk Wylde band.
